Manager Operation Heavy Oil Group

Mr. Ealian Al-Anzi is currently Manager Operations Heavy Oil Group for the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), the National Oil Company of Kuwait.  He gained a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta Collage, USA in 1989 and Master Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Kuwait University in 2006, joined KOC as Petroleum engineer on 14th November 1989, in Petroleum Project Division, Production Development Group. During his early years with KOC, he worked as a Petroleum Engineer on various fields of Petroleum Engineering and reservoirs in an increasingly senior capacity and an excellent and diversified Petroleum Engineering background, working in challenging environments and capacities, with the focus on Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Management, Administration and Operations. Covering various facets of Field development activities including Reservoir management, EOR & water flood activities. In addition, he was the Co-author of several papers on the Petroleum Engineering. As the lead Petroleum Engineering, he involved with play assessment, operations activities. His contributions was recognized by KOC through his subsequent promotions, first to Snr. Petroleum Engineer on 1st March 1998, Team Leader (Fields Development Bahrah/Sabiriya) in 2002 and Manager Gas Field Development in Nov. 2012. 

On 12th February 2017, Mr. Al-Anzi, has been transferred to Operations Heavy Oil Group as Manager Operation Heavy Oil, during his tenure the Operation Heavy Oil Group’s strategy has been rewarded with a large number of significant, heavy oil Fields, which are now under pilot appraisal and development. These Fields will contribute to the State of Kuwait crude Production forward strategy, and ultimately upon the economy of Kuwait. Operation Heavy Oil Group have received a new-leased facility at August 2017, which will produce about 15 MBOPD. In August 2018, another huge heavy oil Production facility will be commissioned which will produce about 60 MBOPD.

Operation Heavy oil Group is expected to expande and grow beyond the recent 37 available staff. 

Mr. Al-Anzi is an active member of SPE. His areas of professional interest include exploration challenges associated with over pressured hostile environments, the search for deep gas, heavy oil Development and Unconventional targets.
